Carlsbad and Vista Dermatology can diagnosis and treat a variety of skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rashes, hair and nail disorders, warts, seborrheic dermatitis, and skin cancers. They also perform Mohs micrographic surgery, which is one of many ways to remove skin cancer. They also offer freezing, excision, laser therapy, and chemotherapy.
Mohs micrographic surgery is an effective way to remove skin cancer from a patient’s body. The process involves the removal of local, individual layers of skin and then examined to see if any traces of cancer are left. This process is then repeated until all traces of cancer are gone. The whole process typically takes three or fewer stages but highly personal, and ultimately depends on the patient. After the procedures, there will be scaring however the scarring is minimal. There are also procedures such as skin flaps, skin graphing, and collagen injections that can be used to remedy these issues. Other side effects are mild discomfort, bruising and swelling, and prescriptions medications are available but most only need Tylenol for pain relief.
Carlsbad and Vista Dermatology also offer phototherapy. Phototherapy is a minimally invasive treatment used to treat psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, vitiligo, etc. This procedure uses ultraviolet light to correct the skin, and at Carlsbad and Vista Dermatology they specifically use narrow band UVB. The patient will undergo a series of treatments that require them to stand in the light box for seconds to minutes. As the condition improves, visits will become less and less frequent and once the skin disorder is in remission, the patient is then weaned off phototherapy.
The Zimmer Cryo Chillers assist with these various treatments by minimalizing pain and discomfort to the patient. The Cryo Chillers provide local relief through air-cooling during various procedures. Medically, it helps to prevent damage to the skin throughout laser procedure. Zimmer Cryo Chiller also brings a piece of mind to the patient even when undergoing the most advanced aesthetic treatments.
